Cost: $5 Janus members and reciprocal orgs, $15 all others. RSVP to events (at) soj (dot) org.

About the program:
Asking for what you want is difficult. Saying “no” is difficult. Apparently “Consent is Sexy” but what does that even mean? How do I ask for what I want without totally killing the mood?

This “Consent 200-Level” workshop will cover how to negotiate, advocate, and ask for what you want using multiple strategies and skills. Pulling from some of the best BDSM and kink handbooks (SM101 and The Ultimate Guide to Topping/Bottoming) this workshop will give participants the skills they need to negotiate before, during, and after touch, play, or sexual encounters. We will spend time practicing asking for what we want in silly, hot, and always clear ways. This workshop is applicable to most ages (no one who is under the state’s legal age of consent), genders, abilities, and sexualities, vanilla and kinksters alike.
About the presenter:
Parks Dunlap is an up and coming pro-erotic Sexuality Educator, Activist, and Academic visiting us from the east coast. Parks’s work primarily focuses on consent culture, effective communication, trauma awareness, survivor support, and pleasure as a tool for social justice. She is a kinky queer butch dyke top who enjoys hot tea, rowing boats, baking bread, being mean, and preppy sweaters.
